Soo Chuan Ong
Soo Chuan is a public affairs professional with extensive experience in international relations, regulatory affairs, international trade, stakeholder advocacy and shaping public policy.
He has previously worked at a Fortune 500 company based in Hong Kong, where he directed the company’s external affairs strategy for the region, which included supporting market affiliates to develop strategies to achieve regulatory and commercial objectives. In an earlier role in Tokyo, he successfully led efforts to reform a discriminatory tax treatment, and further obtained favorable market access for a product’s global debut commercialization.
In his most recent role, Soo Chuan worked as the head of Government Affairs for Asia Pacific for a U.S. based start-up overseeing their public policy, regulatory and regional expansion activities.
Soo Chuan began his career as a Foreign Service Officer at the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He served as First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva, and was a member of Singapore’s delegations tasked with negotiating free trade agreements with the United States and Australia.
